How Much Knowledge is Enough Knowledge?

August 5, 2020

Spoiler alert, you can never stop learning. I don’t think any of us would want to live in a world where that isn’t the reality. Life has us constantly chasing knowledge whether we like it or not. We’re always adapting to new obstacles and technology and learning to overcome life’s challenges, so learning is a constant part of life. One question that can completely change your life is “Why are you learning?” Are you actively seeking knowledge and innovation, or are you simply learning reactively when you have no choice?

Chase New Ideas, Don’t Let Them Come to You

Waiting for a new concept or innovation to fall into your lap leaves you sleepwalking through life. Luck becomes the biggest factor in your success, not your own drive. You have to make a conscious choice that you’ll decide to chase knowledge each day. Whether that means you take a class, read a book, listen to a podcast, all that matters is that you’re starting your day with the goal of learning something new. That’s when you’ll finally be in a position to innovate because you went out and found the ideas instead of waiting for someone else to do it for you.

Be Willing to Accept that Other’s May Have the Answers

One obstacle that almost every entrepreneur faces is a desire to do everything themselves. It’s an innate need to feel like you found your success with your own effort, ideas, and work ethic. The reality is, no one can do it alone and absolutely no one has all the answers. Not everyone’s advice is worth taking (hyperlink last article), but you need to be willing to accept the advice of others and listen to what they have to say. Maintaining that willingness isn’t easy, but it’s an important step you have to take in putting the value of your goals over the value of your ego.
